*Client Job Description: *

*Apex Systems, the nation’s 2nd largest Information Technology staffing
organization, has a .NET/C# Web API Architect opportunity in Hanover, MD
for an educational organization.  The *

*position is slated to be a 3-4 month contract to start, with potential to
move on to other projects, and will report to the Director of Software
Development.  The .NET Architect will work *

*alongside a Team Lead and 1-2 Developers in a very collaborative
environment to build a new rental system for renting e-books, audios, etc…
for a number of libraries (client supports *

*800+ libraries and about 4,400 end users). System will be API heavy
(Microsoft web API’s).  The technical landscape consists of: .NET, C#, Web
API, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, *

*JSON, and MS Client in a standard Waterfall environment. *



*Priorities of .NET Web API Architect:*

*Write spec’s and use cases*

*Interact and partner with stakeholders (i.e. vendors and partners) to
evaluate spec’s and make necessary adjustments*

*High-level design of API’s*

*Build Product (Cross Platform Service Delivery)*

*Implement API’s*

*Some basic SQL Development*



*Requirements of .NET Web API Architect:*

*Applications Architecture and Design background*

*Web API experience (design through implementation)*

*Experienced with HTML, CSS, and JSON*

*Ability to do high-level design documentation*

*Needs to be proactive, adaptable, solution-oriented, and have strong
communication skills.*

*While client uses mostly Microsoft products, any exposure with other
programming languages outside of .NET (i.e. PHP, Java, Ruby, etc) would be
a plus since it shows versatility!   *
