*Position:  Mainframe Admin*

*Location: Berlin, CT*

*Duration: 6 months *



*Skills*

·        Experienced in ZOS Operating systems and OEM Program Products.

·        Good Problem determination and debugging skills

·        Experienced using SMPE for system implementations and applying
system fixes

·        A good knowledge of IPCS, VSAM file structures, OMVS File Systems
and DASD Utilities

·        Experienced in Assembler programming, and coding of exits and
Usermods

·        A good understanding of Parallel Sysplex, Policy’s and Structures.

·        Experienced in using HCD to add/change/delete hardware devices.

·        A good knowledge of ESCON, FICON channels.

·        A good working knowledge of online systems (IMS, CICS transaction
server 4.2)

·        A good working knowledge of RACF security systems

·        A good knowledge of Data mirroring (i.e PPRC)

·        A good working knowledge of HMC, as it pertains to LPAR profiles

·        A good understanding of LPAR controls (i.e. CPS, Storage)

·        A good understanding of DFSMS allocations, and the use of ACS
routines.

·        Experience in using WLM (Workload Manager) to set service classes,
and prioritize workloads

·        Knowledge and hands on DB 2 administration in mainframe environment





*Responsibilities:*

·        Support an IBM z/Series 2096-U02, IBM z/114 Enterprise class 2812
v03 (production) and IBM Z10/Business Class (DR) operating environments.

·        Provide day-to-day administration, support and maintenance for the
ZOS V1.3 Operating systems

·        Monitor system performance, and assure SLAs are being met.

·        Resolve and repair ABENDS. Provide corrective and preventive
measures.

·        Apply system maintenance periodically, and system fixes when
necessary

·        Installation, configuration and upgrading of ZOS software and
related products

·        Conduct weekly status meetings to review weekend, and other issues

·        Perform

·        Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain
users and roles, assign privileges)

·        Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support

·        Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation
to development teams

·        Interface with IBM and OEM vendors for technical support.

·        Respond to health alerts and produce maintenance plans and scripts

·        Participate in Disaster Recovery Tests

·        Develop capacity forecasts and provide any historical capacity
reports requested. Revise the capacity planning model based on actual
performance, including the costs associated with the changes in the plan.

·        Coordination with third party vendors for production issues,
maintenance of third party products

·        Provide unattended operation for the Mainframe systems and
responses to routine and complex functions.

·        Work with the development and application support groups through
design and production processing cycles.
