Complete Description: This position will be playing the Iteration Manager role on an Agile development team within the Development Center. This Agile team is currently working with multiple business units delivering new build projects and shifting demand for their suite of applications. Responsibilities: An IM leads standing development teams. The main responsibilities include planning, facilitation, removing technical and dependency roadblocks, and driving successful software delivery for our partners. Software Development and Agile experience is preferred. * Continuously monitors team throughput and velocity to achieve iteration goals and commitments * Uses technical and functional knowledge to remove roadblocks within the standing team and identify technical risks (e.g., risks with architecture, design, patterns, performance, etc.) * Communicates obstacles requiring outside resolution to the Project Manager * Facilitates effort estimates with the team to support release, iteration and project forecasting/ funding process within the Business Solution Area (BSA) * Ensures the team is ready for release and iteration planning by inspecting functional requirement quality (e.g., use cases, stories, etc.) * Leads iteration planning collaboratively, working with the Business Lead or Product Owner to build and maintain a prioritized product backlog * Leads retrospective, daily standup and show-and-tell meetings to encourage collaboration, communication, feedback and learning among the team * Communicates transparently with dependent projects as to the standing teams' activities and progress, supporting program/project risk mitigation, issue escalation and status reporting * Drives team performance by eliminating waste and fostering an environment of continuous improvement, including facilitating decision making and protecting the team from outside forces and distractions * Continuously improves iteration management capabilities by identifying best practices, adopting consistent, standard work and coaching/pairing across teams **************************************************************************************************** ***************************** Collaboratively lead standing development teams to deliver high quality working software through the adoption of innovative best practices. Work in partnership with project teams to deliver project objectives through structured planning and iterative delivery. To improve quality and increase the velocity of software delivery, collaborate with various stakeholders, user communities, and project teams to learn and implement best practices. Perform peer to peer coaching, training and mentoring to improve process competencies across multiple agile teams. Leads all aspects of a general information technology project or multiple, small-scale IT projects, including project planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication and cost. Applies project management and systems development lifecycle process to small information technology projects from the original concept through the final implementation as well as ensures that the projects are aligned with Nationwide standards and IT strategies. Coordinates the activities of the project team. Behavior Characteristics: Undergraduate studies in business, management information systems, computer science or related field. BA or equivalent is preferred.
