*Job Title : BI Architect and Development Lead * *Location: Louisville, KY * *Duration: 6+ months* -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The BI Architect & Development Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership and design support delivery of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This position is also responsible for applying knowledge of emerging technologies and solutions for Business Intelligence to architect systems, applications and end-user solutions to deliver BI results. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Responsible for the technical design of all BI systems including ETL, data warehousing, reporting and analysis services. *Acts as a BI developer in constructing, testing and deploying technical solutions. *Works with business analysts and others to translate BI requirements into technical tasks. *Assist business analysts and others in the analysis, profiling and understanding of source data. *Creates and maintains documentation of all technical development and systems. *Designs and implements relational and multidimensional data models. *Works with the Infrastructure team to ensure that BI systems meet business requirements for availability, integrity and security. *Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, tools and applications applicable to Business Intelligence. *Maintain coding standards, best practices and policies in relation to database development, release management, access security, IT audit and source code control systems. *Perform and advise/assist BI developers with performance tuning and query optimization *Willingly performs other duties and projects as assigned. Required Experience: *5-10 years' experience as a Microsoft database administrator and/or developer required. *Demonstrated OLTP and OLAP modeling experience required. *Demonstrated SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and TSQL experience in 2008R2 or greater required. *Experience with Microsoft's SSAS Tabular Mode required. *Implementing Master data management or experience with Microsoft's MDS required. *Report and dashboard design inside the Microsoft SQL stack (SSRS, Performance point, PowerView) experience required. *Developing with MDX in Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) required. *Development outside of the Microsoft's SQL stack. (PowerShell, Perl, Python) preferred. *Experience managing the development of technical solutions required. *Strong knowledge of relational database systems and data warehousing techniques required. *SharePoint Management experience preferred. *Release management concepts with Team Foundation Server (TFS) preferred. Required Education: *A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience is required. Additional Comments: INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: *Excellent verbal and written communications skills; must be able to assess what is needed in a project and then be able to relay that into specifications. *Must be self-motivated and also work in a team environment. *Requires a high energy level and strong sense of urgency.
