Title: Oracle Senior Database Administrator ( In person Interview) posted on 2014-03-27 09:28:25 Job Description:The Senior Database Administrator plays a significant role in the design, implementation and maintenance of production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications. In addition, this position supports the database infrastructure components, monitors daily database activities and overall performance, growth and tuning configurations as well as the security of the database: Creates Unix Shell scripts and PL/SQL scripts to support automation Develops and maintains the database configuration documentation. Actively participates in ensuring database security by controlling and monitoring user access. Researches, reviews and develops database designs for new projects. Evaluates new database software versions and presents findings Assists with the development and execution of capacity plans. Monitors and meets established capacity plan standards. Monitors the performance and growth and prepares entities, attributes, and relationships for required transaction and data volumes. Performs root cause analysis of infrastructure problems; identifies solutions and makes recommendations; takes appropriate remedial steps towards resolution. Performs the allocation of disk storage spaces. Develops and executes database backup and recovery strategies. Develops, implements and maintains disaster recovery plans. Develops task automation and process improvements. Maintains established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards.
