This position will be performing services including:* ** Building and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory and GPO's* ** Building and maintaining Microsoft Servers and Databases* ** Building and Maintaining VMware virtual environments* ** Building and maintaining Linux environments particularly running LAMP stacks* ** Building and maintaining network monitoring systems and log correlations systems* ** Building and maintaining an SCCM implementation for a small workgroup* ** Building and maintain department LAN infrastructure* ** Responsible for general I.T. tasks within the department* *Role Summary/Purpose* *The Consultant will work directly for the CISO to determine weekly objectives. The department is building out an isolated environment with high security requirements as required to meet FISMA governance. We are looking for candidates who are highly organized, can work independently in a fast-paced environment and produce multiple quality deliverables with varying deadlines. Candidates should be self-starters and creative problem solvers and have the flexibility to learn new products and technologies quickly.* *Essential Responsibilities* *1. Build, configure and maintain Microsoft servers and Active Directory/GPO structure* *2. Build, configure and maintain Linux servers * *3. Harden all servers and services in accordance with NIST/DISA guidelines* *4. Organize and write supporting documents describing in details all work completed* *5. Research, design, build and configure new solutions given operational requirement parameters independently with minimal supervision* *Required Knowledge/Skills: * *6. Must have 5+ years and an expert skill level with Microsoft operating systems and Active Directory* *7. Must have 5+ years and an expert skill level with Linux distributions, LAMP stacks and installing/configuring open source and COTS solutions, including compiling from source* *8. Must have a security mindset* *9. Must have 2+ years' experience with Microsoft and open source databases* *10. 10+ years of general I.T. experience in a government agency or environment with over 500 users* *11. 2+ years of experience with firewalls, LAN and WAN infrastructure* *12. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with internal and external vendors, project team members, management and agency departments, to build relationships and use facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical personnel* *13. Ability to write, edit, and prepare graphic presentations of technical information for both technical and business personnel* *14. Experience in organizing information in a way that is appropriate for technical explanations without losing sight of the needs and aptitude of the audience* *15. Ability to collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams and vendors* *16. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team* *17. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in order to meet deadlines* *18. Must be intermediate to advanced skills in additional Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and working with templates and style guidelines for branding consistency* *19.
