Title: Programmer Analyst II posted on 2014-06-16 15:30:41 Job Description:*Programmer Analyst II* *St. Louis, MO * *12 month contract* *5+ years’ experience* *Due Date- 6/17 4:00pm CST* *Job Description* • Assist team in the implementation of a series of third-party applications as part of our Operations Enterprise Suite • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business and technical requirements, systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues. Formulate and define system scope and objectives. • Ability to document requirements for business community and vendor. • Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering available infrastructure, requirements, and required results. • Implement and verify new applications and changes to existing applications. • Ability to test functionality of applications in coordination with business users. • Determine application and process changes that enhance business processes, operations, and information process flows. • Assist in developing strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems. • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in applications assigned to you. • Analyze systems to aid business community in making maximum use of the product. • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of computer systems. • Create systems models, specifications, diagrams, and charts as needed for communication and support. • Prepare detailed program specifications using Metro IT standard application methodology • Fully understand and adhere to application development standards as defined by Metro IT. • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems. • Conduct research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. • Provide guidance and/or instruction to other IT staff members to enhance department capabilities. *Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities* • Experience designing, developing and maintaining information technology systems. • Experience with problem identification and correction in complex applications and environments. • Experience with Oracle relational databases (11g) and SQL. Experience with SQL Server a plus. • Ability to write and debug complex SQL and PL/SQL. Evaluate data quality/issues in large databases. • Understanding of administrative and operational business systems and applications. • Experience with design and development of reports for business users.
