Position : Hadoop Consultant Location : Chicago, IL Duration : 6 months
Purpose of Job Our machine learning platform, built on Hadoop, creates usage models based on customer data points, enabling highly accurate traffic forecasting. The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for assisting with designing and implementing Big Data solutions in Amazon Web Services, and supporting the onboarding of applications to these environments to enable the success of their business initiatives. The successful candidate must have 5 - 7 years Java programming expertise and 2 - 4 years of relevant Hadoop and software engineering experience. Competencies/skills required: Hands on experience in standing up AWS services (EMR, EC2, S3) in a highly available production environment. Solid knowledge of Hadoop architecture and core components (HDFS, NameNodes, JobTrackers, TaskTrackers, Oozie, etc.) Solid knowledge of Hadoop configuration Experience debugging Hadoop component, stability, and performance issues Organized, good attention to details, and able to work independently Ability to work on a team and work well with others to complete tasks Understanding of AWS deployment and configuration Competencies/skills desired: Knowledge of Scalding and/or Spark Experience with Cassandra Familiarity with Agile Please respond with you *consultant resume*, *contact*, *rate *and *current location* info to speed up the interview process.
