The Sr SAS Analyst is responsible for improving report workflow processes
for current SAS driven analytics within the Enterprise Reporting &
Analytics team, producing ad hoc analytics, and creating prototypes, for
both standard reporting and major project initiatives. He/she will work
with the internal or external business owner to identify opportunities to
increase report performance efficiency & create business value from Prime’s
data.

The Sr SAS Analyst will participate in all aspects of analytics and
reporting while supporting Prime’s business units.

In the process of gathering the business requirements, the Sr SAS Analyst
will integrate all the information and relate the business requirements to
business values and technical capabilities available to the project. He/She
will become the expert at translating the business value to business
requirements and carrying it through to technical requirements while
producing valuable analytics and reporting prototypes.



*Responsibilities:*



• Primary responsibilities will include:

o Work with business owners to understand business objectives

o Identify opportunities to add value through the use of reporting and/or
analytics

o Create business requirements for reporting and/or analytics

o Produce data, models and analytics as required

o Develop reporting prototypes

o Provide business guidance to IT/IM during production of new reports

o Communicate analytic understandings to business owners

o Assist as necessary with communication of data to management and/or
clients

o Building the role into a shared Sr SAS (and other technical) solution
service for the Enterprise Reporting & Analytics team.

• Serve as a communication bridge between Reporting and Analytics,
Information Management and other internal business partners regarding:
report development/ enhancements, implementations and process improvements

• Partner with Information Management and Business stakeholders to ensure
projects are effectively put into production by working through the project
lifecycle, which includes coordinating user acceptance testing with the
business sponsors

• Manage implementation timeframes to ensure clear understanding and
communication of capabilities, business requirements and customization needs

Basic Qualifications:

• College degree or equivalent experience

• 5 or more years of SAS development (v9 or greater), SAS Enterprise Guide
and/ or SQL experience with large data sets

• 5 or more years experience in managing multiple projects including
some/all of the following - developing business requirements, analysis,
data manipulation, reporting implementation, business process improvement

Preferred Qualifications:

• PBM or healthcare experience strongly preferred

• Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering

• Proven problem solver using quick prototype, iterative methodology

• 5+ years of advanced “utility” development skills using other analytical
tools besides SAS such as SQL, .Net, advanced MS Access, MS Excel, OBIEE,
Microstrategy, SPSS, SSIS, SSAS, etc.

• Prior experience in meeting facilitation and presenting basic concepts to
clients/working groups/colleagues/peers

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Excellent oral and written communication skills delivering outcomes to a
variety of audiences from technical developers to executives

• 5 or more years data and/or business analyst experience
