Position : Sr. Red Hat Linux Administrator Location : Pittsburgh, PA Duration : 3-6 months
Responsibilities Managing Red Hat Linux computing infrastructure Security administration (hardening) of Linux systems Master a complex suite of applications and work your magic supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting those applications in a fast-paced environment Work with a team of folks to handle development, deployment, and maintenance of application stack Configure, install, and maintain application software on the front and back-end Apply intuition, investigation, and your understanding of software and systems to improve the performance and efficiency of our systems Designing disaster recovery strategies and fail over operations for remote COOP sites. Responsibilities include working evenings and limited weekends. Basic Qualifications: 8 years of IT security experience (or more depending on rate expectations) Extensive experience with Red Hat Linux (5 and 6) systems or downstream distributions (CentOS/Fedora) Scripting language experience with shell, Python, and/or Perl Proven ability to work well in a Team environment but also capable of working independently Exceptional customer service, communication and organizational skills Professionalism, sense of urgency, and ability to effectively deal with critical situations is a must Willingness, desire, and proven ability to work on varied technical support tasks – scripting, technical troubleshooting, problem resolution, server OS builds/installs/hardening, QA/Engineering Testing, technical documentation and software/application deployments to servers. Ability to quickly adapt to changing demands MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FROM THE COMMAND LINE AND NOT JUST THE RED HAT GUI.
