*ETL/ DW Architect* *NYC* *RATE OPEN* Senior ETL Architect contractor with demonstrated abilities to design solutions in a mid-sized, fast-paced IT environment. The client is seeking an ETL/ DW Architect with a focus on functional design, data design and data migration. He or she will be part of the Solution Architecture team and will participate in designing functional solutions on a large on-going regional project.
*Responsibilities:* - Ensures that the development teams employ balanced functional solutions and is responsible for creating and maintaining standard project documentation, service interfaces and contracts as well as other supporting documentation. - The position will focus on database design and data migration topics. The ideal candidate will have data migration experience on previous projects as well as a solid background in Microsoft SQL Server and data migration technologies such as SSIS and/or Informatica. - 10 years’ experience with Data Architecture - 10 years’ experience in Data Warehousing/DBA - Experience preferably with Embarcadero if not then with ERwin - written and verbal communication skills - Experience with creating Test Plans - Hands on experience with Test Driven Development - Hands on experience with Agile Methodology - Hands on experience with Data Validation - Work with development teams, Project Managers and Business to articulate value and reason why architecture direction should be taken. - Drive architecture that is proactive, facilitates understanding of application direction, is collaborative and finds solutions that meet both Business and IT needs. - Deliver design documents on projects and other design collateral as needed. - Define and provide guidance in implementing solutions, especially in our services and data layer.
