*Position:- SQL Data Specialist * *Location:- Orlando, FL* *Duration:-6-12+ months* *MOI:- Telephonic + Skype* *JOB DESCRIPTION* Plans, analyzes and provides periodic reports on the capacity, health and performance of all productionalized Database system environments. Provide central control of all matters affecting the production databases. Ensure common standards are established. Responsible for managing and monitoring database systems to ensure systems and daily activities are satisfied. Responsible for providing superior knowledge and primary technical support and administration of production database systems. Schedules, plans, and implements all changes to the database environment and the Database Management System, following change control and security procedures. Develops implements and maintains backup and recovery for databases. Keeps abreast of developments and trends and makes recommendations to ITD managers. Acts as the lead on projects in areas pertaining to the database environments. *Position Responsibilities* • Operational support of database environments system and to maintain the system at optimum overall efficiency. Ensuring maximum performance and database uptime within organizational constraints by making tuning recommendations based on performance analysis, creating and testing backups for production databases, and monitoring of the database systems. Perform regular analysis to determine and make recommendations relating to performance, security, and efficiency of database systems. • Develop and maintain an organizational strategic plan for subject databases on a continual basis. Carry out and maintain the overall design of databases, including standard data definitions, data dictionary, database security, privacy and recovery systems and any necessary support software. • Establish or support data requirements of the organization and maintain and coordinate long and short term development plans by develop standards and procedures governing the usage and access of the databases and the maintenance of data integrity in working with Data Council. • Securing Data via Obfuscation, Encryption or other best practices • Recommend and prototype tools for Database Management • Provide insight to the EA on how data is being captured, utilized/consumed and delivered within the enterprise • Will provide oversight and governance to the application/product teams on proper usage of data being captured, utilized/consumed and delivered within the enterprise • Protection of PCI and PII data • The position will provide support in dimensional modeling of data • Providing guidance on best practices and tool usage for data cleansing and scrubbing • Provides guidance on SSIS usage best practices supporting ETL and job controls *WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS* • Over 2 years of integration or application architecture work experience. • Over 6 years of work experience in all as of the Systems Development Life Cycle. • Over 2 years of Data Securing and Optimization experience • Experience with Obfuscation and Encryption of Data • Detailed knowledge of database design concepts, pertinent programming language and operating systems knowledge, systems programming, and networking. • Working experience in the development and maintenance of databases and database management systems. Mainly Microsoft SQL Server 2005 / 2008 /2012 • Thorough knowledge and good monitoring skills in database, network, interactive and host-to-host console operations to ensure resource availability to the users. • Experience in utilizing database software, client server and web development methodologies • Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and best practices. • Strong facilitation, interpersonal and consultative skills. Ability to develop and work with different constituencies in • a team-oriented, collaborative environment. • Strong written and oral presentation skills. • Excellent analytical skills and discernment. • Initiative and ‘Can Do’ Attitude Required. *Desired* • Bachelors/ Master's Degree in IT related field. • Experience with Database Architecture *EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS* • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
