Description:

  The Department is in need of a SQL developer to support;
1. The migration of the existing environment to SQL 2012,
2. Work with data warehouse analysts, policy and field staff to design,
develop and implement data mart databases that are dimensionally modeled
around line of business reporting/analytic needs.
3. Work with DHS staff in the development of Analytics (SPSS and other
statistical tools), structured reporting (e.g. trends, metrics) and ad-hoc
reporting solutions.
4. Design and development of data cubes
5. Design and development of highly-automated ETL packages.  The Department
predominately uses SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) with complex
T-SQL as its ETL tool.  Data Sources include mainframe, IDMS (via
extracts), other SQL Server databases, and Oracle.

Required Skills:

* Experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) with complex
T-SQL as its ETL tool
* Design, develop and implement data mart databases that are dimensionally
modeled around line of business reporting/analytic needs
* Assist power users of the data warehouse in the design and development of
complex queries spanning multiple tables and databases
* Design and development of data cubes
* Analytics (SPSS and other statistical tools), structured reporting (e.g.
trends, metrics) and ad-hoc reporting solutions.
* Experience using SSRS to create reports
* Query Analyzer for direct query
* Migration experience from current (SQL 2005 or 2008) environment to SQL
2012
