*Role: **Network Design Engineer*

*Location:  Work from home – candidate must be within 150 miles of
Harrisburg, PA *



The Senior Network Design Engineer is a member of a mission critical data
center network operations team. The team's primary responsibility is the
management of a Cisco network infrastructure supporting hundreds of
Microsoft Windows server instances, Unisys and IBM mainframe/mid-range, and
AIX platforms.

*Key Responsibilities*
- Functions as technical lead on complex network troubleshooting issues and
incoming design and architecture requests.
- Administer and maintain high availability, enterprise, datacenter network
in support of client SLAs
- Develop configurations of Cisco switches and routers series such as Nexus
7000, 5000, 2000 and Catalyst 6500, 3800, 2800, etc. Familiarity with Cisco
Virtual Switching System (VSS) preferred.
- Proficient with management of Juniper firewalls using CLI and Junos Space.
- Administer F5 Load-Balancing modules for application delivery and load
balancing.
- Proficient with EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, Wireless LANs and VPN
appliances.
- Assess current and proposed network designs and proactively makes
recommendations based on customer requirements.

- Support enterprise tool sets from Splunk, Juniper, Cisco, and HP ArcSight
for security monitoring of system logs, event correlation, and performance
analysis.
- Assess team's process delivery and makes recommendations for process
improvements.

- Focus on operational changes, incident response, and problem management
using ITIL aligned procedures and tools (ITSM).
- Participate in solution architecture meetings design meetings
- Provide Technical Peer review with Design Engineers.

*Technical and Behavioral Skills*
- 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer with emphasis on data center
network security, and routing/switching, standards/best practices, design,
and implementation
- Advanced Cisco certifications highly desired (CCIE, CCNP, CCDP, CCSP,
etc.)

- Subject Matter Expert (SME) level network routing and switching, concept,
design and support experience
- Proven operational experience with high availability, enterprise data
center networks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly communicate
with clients are a must.
- Familiarity with ITIL v3 based service delivery model using
change/incident/problem management highly desired.
- Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation.
