You will help build next-generation "social search" applications that power
cutting-edge enhancements to one of the web's largest and fastest growing
local search networks.
*Required Skills:*

Solid Lucene experience is a must.
Solid understanding of information retrieval (owns a copy of
"Modern Information Retrieval" or similar; understands core data structures
& algorithms used in search)
At least one medium search project using Lucene ("medium" = 10M documents,
>20 QPS, 10+ servers)
Experience in sizing, scaling, performance tuning, and deploying a search
application.
Proficient in one compiled language (Java, C/C++,etc)
Proficient in one 'scripting' language (Python, Ruby, Perl, etc)
Strong communication skills
Education Requirement:
4 year degree in CS, or equivalent experience (need to have developed the
ability to write code without supervision, and to have the ability to guide
other engineers to write better code.
Open source contributions (preferably in search related projects).
