Create appropriate database and database structures. Define and implement appropriate utilities to monitor database functions and activity. Provide scripts to simplify recurring activities diagnose problems and remediate problems when they occur. Implement automated notification via email and/or pager when conditions require immediate attention. Work with database management software to organize and store data for peak performance and system resource utilization. Coordinate database changes with various team leads. Prepare and implement a backup and recovery strategy for local and offsite database recovery. Ensure appropriate space management for databases.
