Job Purpose/ Description:
To serve as liaison between the business community and the IT Application
Development (AD) organization in order to gather and analyze business
requirements; translate business requirements into functional specifications
and/or functional specifications into technical specifications; provide
physical and logical design specifications, coding, testing of computer
programs and/or application components; assess, recommend and implement
practical, cost effective and efficient systems solutions to business,
application and technical problems; follow rigorous system development life
cycle (SDLC) and project management best practices, comply with internal
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other processes related to regulatory or compliance
requirements, and adhere to change control and problem management procedures.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Candidate's primary responsibility will be production support of the CISS
application. The CISS application runs a JAVA J2EE front end with an ORACLE
database and a batch backend.
The candidate will support other JAVA and server based applications as needed.
Candidate will be required to act as liaison between the various business and
IT groups to communicate issues and coordinate resolutions to production
issues. Responsible for tracking and documenting production issues using
incident and change management software. Expected to
troubleshoot and document steps surrounding issues reported in
production environment. Candidate will be responsible for coding, testing and
coordinating implementation of fixes into the production environment.
Required education/experience:
-Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science,
Information Systems, or other related field.
-5 to 8 years of IT work experience in systems programming / analysis
Oracle Oracle 10.2.0.3
Excellent Communication Skills.
Excellent Problem Solving/troubleshooting Skills.
Ability to interface with business users on a daily basis.
Ability to work in both a team environment as well as work un-supervised and
autonomous.
Previous production support experience of intranet-based applications. 3+ years
Preferred:
StarTeam experience
SQL+ or TOAD experience
