Role: SQL Server DBA Location: Chicago (Locals Only) Duration: 4 - 6 Weeks (BackFill position) Start Date: Nov-24 Position Summary: Administering SQL Server database systems, implementing SQL Server technology. Ensuring High Availability and high performance of SQL Server databases Responsibilities: Ensure High Availability of the SQL Server database systems: supervise and maintain SQL Server Log Shipping, clustering including Veritas Cluster Server, Replication, and other HA technologies Ensure Recoverability of SQL Server databases: production and non-production. Maintain high standards of backup/recovery, conduct recovery tests Ensure best performance of the critical SQL Server databases through efficient maintenance and performance tuning Maintain SQL Server database Security Write technical documentation Support and implement database changes, ensure quality of the changes § SQL Server Administration § SQL Server High Availability § SQL Server tools and utilities § Windows operating system § Database Security § Database Networking § OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) and DSS (Decision Support Systems), Data Warehousing, OLAP § SQL Server database installation, configuration, planning, migration, upgrading. Transact-SQL, DTS, SSIS § SQL Server Database High Availability: native backups, LiteSpeed, Log Shipping, Replication. Veritas Cluster Server is a plus § SQL Server Database High Availability: native backups, LiteSpeed, Log Shipping, Replication.
