Thanks.* *Position:* .Net Consultant *# of Openings:* 1 *Start Date:* ASAP *Duration:* 3 – 9 months (renewable) *Location:* Minneapolis, MN *Position Description:* The City is seeking a .Net Developer for a three to nine-month engagement to augment the City's E-Government Solution Development Team. The ideal candidate will bring mature software process management and development skills to hit the ground running on several in-flight projects. * * *Primary Responsibilities:* * * The candidate will work on the Mobile Housing Project. Other responsibilities will include web application for housing inspectors to use while in the field, building the user interface including validation and AJAX controls, building the business objects, and building web services to the back end database. * * *Job Duties:* * * Their primary duties will include but not be limited to: - Work on the Mobile Housing Project - Visual Studio 2005, .NET 2.0 development environment - C# programming language - Web Application development, both user interface and back-end functions - Web Service/SOAP development - Create UML class diagrams - Use AJAX * * *Working Conditions: * * * Office setting with daily exposure to computers. *Requirements:* * * *Experience:* * * Five years of experience in the following: · Designing and developing object-oriented applications. · C#, C++, or Java. · SQL Query Language Must have 1-3 years experience in the following technologies: · Web-based application development · HTML interfaces · Microsoft .NET (C# preferred) · Microsoft Access development · Microsoft Visual Basic · Microsoft Windows-based development Experience preferred in the following applications: · Oracle · MS SQL Server 2000 · XML/SOAP/Web Services *Other Qualifications:* * * · Proven experience in technology project management. · Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. · Proven leadership experience. · Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects. · Strong organizational skills. · Well defined knowledge of Project Management methodologies. · Strong customer service orientation. · Ability to manage complex IT solution provider contracts and relationships. Solid understanding of financial impacts to budgets. · Ability to effectively multitask between multiple projects and manage priorities. · Ability to scope complex projects and effectively estimate effort and costs. · Adopt existing development processes, coding standards, and architectural guidelines. · Work independently to translate a conceptual technical and/or functional design specification into a working code module.
