(02 positions)* Both must have experience with *TM1 or Applix* (Same thing) We will be building out a dashboard for a Proof of Concept. Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Architect/Lead is responsible for application development for Cognos and/or other Business Intelligence environments. The incumbent will assist in maintaining relationships with clients, IS Business Partners, IS service delivery organizations, and vendors to provide for the reliable design, development, and delivery of cost-effective, quality, customer-focused applications. The Business Intelligence Developer will support the adoption of IT best practices to ensure service delivery quality and consistency. Role Responsibilities: �h Develop Business Intelligence applications using Cognos 8. Responsibilities include: o Developing Framework Manager Models, Transformer models, PowerPlay Cubes, TM1 cubes, reports and Go! Office templates o Ongoing analysis and modifications of the reporting applications and processes to support current business needs. o Data access and analysis. o Application development and debugging. o Managing user requests and developing and delivering report enhancements and information from various data sources based on minimal requirements and under tight timeframes. �h Manage development and production processes on Cognos and/or other BI platforms �h Collaborates with other Cognos and/or other BI resources during project implementation and maintenance by ensuring project deliverables are on time. �h Expected to keep abreast of new developments in the key technology areas of Business Intelligence, and integration/ETL. �h Identifies opportunities for improvement with regards to both process and information in the context of the overall information management strategy and service delivery model. �h Implements standard procedures and workflows for improved effectiveness and efficiency in support of business strategy. �h Expected to communicate openly with upper management and escalate issues when appropriate. �h Demonstrates company values on a consistent basis. �h Performs other duties as requested. *Job Requirements* Education: �h Bachelor degree from an accredited school in Computer Science or equivalent with technical emphasis �h Master's degree preferred Experience: �h Minimum of 5 years information services experience including all aspects of application systems design, development, and support. �h Minimum of 4 years development experience with Cognos BI. �h Minimum of 3 years development experience with SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle and Unix. �h Experience in creating metadata models and packages using Framework Manager, multidimensional models/cubes using Transformer, development of reports and dashboards using Cognos Report Studio, Cognos Query Studio and Analysis Studio. �h Experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning Cognos 8. �h Experience in developing custom Microsoft Excel reports using VBA is a plus. �h Cognos (Applix) TM1 experience �h Ability to build relationships and manage key vendors. �h Must possess solid business knowledge of the sales and marketing functions, specifically Sales Operations, Market Research and a broad understanding of the roles of all other functional departments.
