Please Reply to [email protected] Position : Network Systems Manager Location : Lanham, MD Duration : 6 Months Job Responsibilities: Responsible for managing the Information Technology infrastructure, which includes the support of the network, servers, desktops, laptops, Macs and the Lanham and Ashburn data centers. Develops the technical requirements for the supporting infrastructure. Provides technical support to all technical resources, which includes the Information Technology Department employees, Market Engineers etc. 1.Provide network support to over twenty locations for desktops, laptops, Macs, servers, and technical applications including installation, troubleshooting, technical administration, operations and training support to technical resources remotely or on-site. 2.Ensure the integrity of the Active Directory infrastructure. 3.Manage, support and lead technical resources that support the network infrastructure. 4.Enhance and test the disaster recovery plan. 5.Develop and manage security mechanisms to ensure against unauthorized access to the network. 6.Optimize the network by evaluating and improving the performance of the local and wide area networks. 7.Responsible for configuration, operation, testing and administration of network server hardware, operating systems and communications links. 8.Manage network upgrades, network change control process and on-call schedule. 9.Partner with contractors, vendors and internal departments to maintain the network. Required Skills: §Require a minimum of 4 years "hands on" network experience, supporting various network and server based operating systems. §Experience administering IP networking equipment, Cisco routers, switches and firewalls. §Advanced understanding of all aspects of LAN and WAN operation, load balancing, routing, topology, network protocols, and Wide Area Network technologies; T1/T3, ATM, VPN, firewalls, etc. §Experience troubleshooting IP networking problems and performance issues. §Experience in network monitoring, analysis, configuration and management tools. §Experience with Windows 2000/2003/XP, Active Directory and networking configuration. Non-Technical Required Skills: §Must be able to effectively lead and manage teams §Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills §Must be able to work well under pressure §Ability and willingness to have a flexible schedule, including working evenings and weekends periodically to meet deadlines §Must be available for after hours and on call support Preferred Skills: Experience with VOIP, MPLS, QoS, Visio, Microsoft Project and SharePoint is preferred. This position requires 10-15% travel.
