* * *Database Administration* Location: St. Paul, MN Duration:: Contract to hire after 3 months Rate: Open *Must submit Locals only * *Main skills*: Migrating from Version 7.x to Version 9.x and zOS experience is required. Working on large-scale(5+ terabyte) data warehouse and online database on diversified platforms such as, z/OS, UNIX, Windows NT. DB2 DBA experience. Summary: Responsible for database creation, implementation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting for software applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Evaluates, installs and maintains database management system (DBMS) software and related software products. • Develops communications that persuade and influence target audience (e.g., discussion documents, proposals). • Sets up and maintains data structures and database environments to support production, performance and development activities. • Facilitates reusability and participates in the definition of operational standards for managing information assets. • Researches current and emerging technology trends pertinent to functional area • Provides DB2 support and utilizes troubleshooting and diagnostic tools. • Monitors, measures, and optimizes individual and combined utilization of hardware and software components. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in a related field. Experience: 5-7 years experience with 5 or more years experience in a database analyst or equivalent technical position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
