The successful candidate will be proficient at and enjoy reading, writing and writing about, analyzing, interpreting, explaining, critiquing, developing, updating, improving, maintaining, and staying current with a variety of security-related documentation. Qualified candidates should meet the requirements as noted below: Education Bachelors degree in information security, computer science, information technology, information policy, or similar. Skills: - Positive, enthusiastic, and assertive self-starter, who is disciplined, highly motivated, goal-driven, highly analytical, and detail-oriented. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to interface effectively with staff, executives, and upper management. - Ability to analyze and research problems and to arrive at solutions which meet the needs of the customer. - Ability and desire to keep up to date with security trends, guidelines, and standards. - Certifications Any of the following certifications are a plus, but are not required: • GSEC • GIAC • GFSP • GCSC • GSPA • CISSP Experience with federal agencies is a PLUS. • Job duties will include: Read, analyze, update, improve, develop, maintain, and prepare written evaluations of security-related: • Plans • Policies • Procedures • Processes • Guidelines • Standards • Risk Assessments • Website Content • Charts • Diagrams • Training Material - Evaluate same for compliance with NIST, FISMA, OMB and SSA policy and procedures. - Provide assessments and make recommendations on impact and required changes to business processes. - Prepare and present: • PowerPoint presentations and Word documents to provide the information necessary for executives to make sound decisions regarding security policies and implementation - Documentation that encapsulates the results of security tests, including ST&E reports and technical risk assessment reports • C&A training for staff based on SSA policy and procedures Participate in various security-related initiatives and workgroups.
