COGNOS BI Los Angeles, CA (LOCAL Preferred) 06+ Months Contract Job Description: Information Technology - Data Warehouse BI Specialist Designs, implements and supports data warehousing BI reporting system. Implements business rules via Cognos Business Intelligence reporting and OLAP technology. Defines user interfaces and functional specifications. Responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and the maintenance and support of the data warehouse reporting system. Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience in data warehousing/BI. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Reports to a Senior Manager, Data Warehouse. Significant degree of creativity and latitude is required. Skills Required:· Cognos Business Intelligence Suite, including: Cognos reports development Cognos OLAP cubes development Cognos tools knowledge – Impromptu, Transformer, Analysis Studio, Report Studio Cognos Administration Comprehensive Oracle PL/SQL skills Red Hat Linux Thorough understanding of modern Data Warehousing methodologies and architecture Thorough understanding of modern OLAP methodologies and architecture Perfect interpersonal and communication skills BA degree or higher _____________________________________ Minimum years of relevant experience: ·Data Warehousing/BI/OLAP - 5 ·Cognos – 5 ·Any SQL – 5 ·Oracle SQL – 3 ·Any OLAP – 5 ·Cognos OLAP – 3 ·Linux – 2 _______________________________________ UPDATE TO THIS REQUIREMENT: They are looking for candidates that are really strong with Web Analytics. They also should have work experience with databases LARGER than 1 terabyte. The bigger the better. The manager feels as though the submitted candidates are ''tool-only'' specialists as opposed to true architects.
