*WebSphere Admin - 12 month+ contract - Norwalk, CA* * * *No East Coast Candidates Please* Client uses WebSphere Application System Server 6.0.2.25, WebSphere Portal 6.0.1.3, Web Content Management, ClearCase, HTTP Server 6.0.2, DB2 UDB V8 on z/OS, DB@ UDB V9 on zLinux. The Consultant's responsibilities include: " Install, configure, maintain, administer, and support WebSphere App Servers, WebSphere Portal Servers, and WebSphere Web Content Management (WCM) in a cluster environment for a zLinux platform. " Install, maintain, and support all Web related products for a cluster environment for a zLinux platform. " Implement new fixes in a manner which minimizes risk and customer impact. " Plan how and when to install new products or upgrades to existing software considering impact on end-users. " Perform administration tasks, applying xml access, syndication, themes, and skins updates. " Deploy code base to all Portal environments. " Perform ongoing performance monitoring, diagnosis, and tuning, and work with the Database Systems and applications teams to provide application and systems performance improvements. " Identify and utilize the best methods for adjusting and tuning the system to maximize system performance. " Give presentations (knowledge transfer) to the Database System team. " Assist with County's Database Systems team and application development personnel to discuss status and planning for WebSphere Portal upgrades to new releases. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Candidates must meet all of the following requirements: 1. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience within the last (5) years in installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining WCM (Web Content Management), WebSphere App Server, and WebSphere Portal Server for zLinux, upgrading WebSphere Portal to new releases and applying Fixpacks. 2. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience within the last (5) years in performing ongoing performance monitoring, diagnosis, and tuning of WebSphere App Server and WebSphere Portal Server for zLinux. 3. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience within the last (5) years planning how and when to upgrade existing WebSphere software considering the impact on end-users. 4.
