The IP Services Fault Manager is responsible for providing 24x7 network
operations support for AT&T’s ISP Platforms and AT&T’s Business Services
Applications Platforms. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
the remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Unix servers,
operating systems, applications, Oracle data bases, and IP networking to
maintain 99.9+% uptime in an active production environment. This position
partners with the Technical Support Managers to manage services,
troubleshoot system problems that may impact service availability, and
develop long term fixes that will prevent service affecting failures from
occurring. This position is also responsible for assisting the Technical
Support group in performing scheduled maintenance and deployments on
production systems. This position must manage multiple simultaneous
troubles. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and quite
often works independently as well as a member of a larger team. This
position works all shifts, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis.
This position is located in Bridgeton, Missouri.



Job Description:

Due to the complexity of the troubles handled by this position, experience
must include a minimum of 3+ years experience troubleshooting complex UNIX
server, operating system, application, and IP networking troubles within an
Operations environment.



Responsible for providing 24 x 7 demand maintenance support for AT&T’s ISP
Services Platforms and AT&T’s Business Services Applications Platforms. The
position will be required to identify and troubleshoot complex, potentially
service impacting conditions which require a broad and/or deep level of
advanced technical knowledge. As well as managing hardware, OS, and
application troubles, this position also is responsible for troubleshooting
and resolving single customer troubles that are due to network or
application issues. Single customer issues are referred to this position by
the Tier 2 technical teams within the various Customer Care organizations.
This position does not work directly with end user customers, it works with
the Tier 2 technical teams within the customer facing organizations. This
position is required to partner with the Technical Support Managers to
determine root cause information and document such. Ongoing analysis of
M&P’s associated with system alarms will be performed and when required
M&P’s will be modified or developed.



Responsible for managing the overall maintenance window. This position
partners with the TSMs in performing planned maintenance for all hardware,
applications, data bases, and networking elements managed by the IP Services
Team. This position is accountable for the successful completion of
documented changes and for overseeing the efforts of all involved
organizations. Responsible for partnering with the TSMs in performing ORT
testing for new service element and application deployments. Upon successful
completion of ORT’s, this position assists in putting into production all
elements for which ORT’s have been completed.
