Local candidates to those two areas are strongly preferred, The duration is going to be a 6 month + contract, most likely over a year. *Environment:* UI is 5 years old and will be upgraded completely with new technologies Linux OS Core Java (older version) 1.1.8 C++ Some light C Non-Web *Set Top Box Development* *Job Description:* - Will be responsible for researching new UI technologies and making recommendations to DirecTV Engineering managers about why and how they should use these new technologies. - Responsible for interacting with the UI designers to come up with technical solutions to implement complex UI design and functionality. - Should be well versed with experience developing multiple UI’s – (Flash, Web Kit, Open GL, ect) - Looking for someone who is passionate about exploring new UI technologies - Responsible for developing UI prototypes for Engineering Managers including VP’s and CTO. - This is not a heads down coding position, there will be heavy R & D involved on a daily basis. *Requirements:* - Experience developing complex UI’s on a core Java platform (preferably for a consumer electronics company) - Strong core Java programming experience (non – web programming), looking for someone who is not a compartmentalized or portal developer. - Proficiency coding in C and C++ (does not have to be an expert) - Development experience on a Linux operating system. - Tools programming in the Gaming Industry would be beneficial but is not a must - Must have the communication skills to present prototypes to high level executives - Must pass a object oriented Java and C++ coding test (candidate will be asked to write new functions, data sets, and classes from a sample project requirement) * PLEASE SEND ME THE RESUMES TO MY OFFICIAL ID BELOW* *Best Regards* *Chris** Nihaki Systems,Inc.
