BS/MS in Computer science/engineering or equivalent 2. 5+ years of software development experience on *UNIX/Linux operating systems* and knowledge of 64-bit OSs. 3. 5+ years experience *programming in C/C++. * 4. Working knowledge of* Java, Perl & UNIX shell scripting*. 5. Handson experience and knowledge of UNIX/Linux systems internals and their usage in systems applications - I/O subsystems, memory management, compiler optimization, socket/network programming. Clustering experience a big plus for a couple of engineers who would be porting the RAC/Clusterware products. 6. Extensive experience debugging (symbolic and assembly level) complex software applications in UNIX/Linux environments. 7. Ability to detect and address compiler optimization and code generation issues when building complex applications on UNIX/Linux. 8. Knowledge of engineering processes - source control, functional and system testing etc. *Job Profile* 1. Development of Platform Specific Code for the Oracle database product on Linux. 2. Porting the generic code of the Oracle database product to Linux. 3, Building and Integrating the various components of the Oracle Database product, addressing build and compile time issues. 4. Functional and System testing of the Oracle database product and debugging and resolving the bugs and issues arising out of the testing effort. 5.
