*General Role Overview*
The ETL Manager will be responsible to design, document, develop, test,
install and support complex data extract, transformation and load (ETL)
programs. This person will work in conjunction with other IT/development
and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance,
security and integration requirements from the database perspective, and
translate these requirements into functional, scalable and reusable
components for our development framework.
This position is responsible for the implementation and strategy to automate
all job processes using best industry practices using DataStage, Autosys and
Unix shell scripting.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the ETL framework is
extensible, adheres to industry standards, and is maintainable and
operational with minimum manual interference.
*Minimal Required – Skills / Experience / Qualifications*
· Knowledge of data warehouse implementation process, from business
requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data
sourcing and data transformation, data loading, SQL, end-user tools,
database and SQL performance tuning
· Expert DataStage job level performance tuning experience – 7+
years
· Expert DataStage administration experience –7+ years
· At least 7+ years of IBM Data Stage developer experience –2 years
Version 7.5+ Required
Must have extensive experience with EBCDIC data
Must have extensive experience with CFF stage
· Expert level Unix shell scripting experience required (10 years +)
· Experience with Autosys job development
· Oracle database experience (Must have 8i, 9i & 10G preferred)
required
· DB2 Connect experience required
· At least 2 years of recent IBM Quality Stage experience
· At least 2 years of recent IBM Meta Stage experience or experience
in building custom enterprise class metadata solutions
· 7+ years of hands on ETL experience in a data warehouse
environment
· Ability to analyze query plans, indexes, and locking behavior
· Experienced with Data Stage Version Control
· Ability to perform DataStage development as well as perform code
reviews for ETL developer staff
· Build detailed source to target maps
· Understanding of dimensional and normalized modeling concepts
· Experience managing and maintaining meta-data: Cataloging
definitions, calculations and origins of data
