Application Developer ** ** Job Description ** Design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of programming applications to satisfy requirements of one or more user areas. Analyzes, designs and develops, implements program and test specifications for system changes and complex enhancements. Codes and debugs programs, and using various development tools and utilities. Provides 24-hour daily production and technical support to assigned systems solving system and application problems in an on-call rotation. ** Works closely with client management and development business analysts to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions/vendor products and makes recommendations. Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staffs at the highest technical level. May lead small to medium projects and develop project plans. May provide review the work of other team members. Will provide technical and analytical support to assigned job family and will exercise discretion and independent judgment on a daily basis. ** Capable of working on teams performing cross-discipline planning and implementation. Extensive experience with large environments, multiple operating systems, multiple infrastructure applications and networked technology. Will be capable not only of planning, architecting and managing the implementation of solutions to highly complex problems and challenges, but would provide proactive strategy around opportunities they see. ** Banking experience a plus. Experience with statement processing, credit card processing, or plastics processing a definite plus. ** ** Required Skills ** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, plus 5 to 7 years related experience in large enterprise environments on medium to complex projects as a Systems Analyst/Programmer Analyst. Previous lead experience preferred. Complete Software Development Lifecycle experience. ** Candidate will have depth of knowledge in distributed software systems concepts and breadth of experience with practical architecture, programming, and design skills. Ideal candidate will have extensive ability in the test and implementation of n-tier and web-based application and OOD/A/P client/server application architectures. Ability to understand and develop technical direction, assess business requirements, and develop system specifications. Proven systems research, analysis, programming, and problem solving capabilities. Strong diagnostic capabilities required. Ability to perform data design, analysis, and interface data with applications. Enterprise connectivity/messaging experience. Experience with Web Services and Workflow systems/Business Rules Engines. Familiarity with legacy systems integration. ** Ability to complete complex projects with limited supervision. Demonstrates professionalism and good judgment. Good people skills. Self-starter. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Team player with flexibility. Provide leadership and support to team members - Mentor. ** Candidate should have demonstrated skill in the use of Java, HTML, XML, etc. Development server-side Java applications, Enterprise Java Beans, Java Servlets, and JSPs. Web/Application servers - WebLogic, Websphere, or their Open Source counterparts. Rational Tool Suite. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project. Experience with at least two major CGI languages (ASP, Perl, Coldfusion, PHP, etc.) in web experience. Entity-relationship modeling within major relational databases (Oracle, DB2). Oracle PL/SQL and writing stored procedures. Experience with Crystal Reports/Business Objects or other industry standard reporting tools.
