Location: USA, Sunnyvale, California No of Resource: 3 Duration: 6 months Contract Rate: Negotiable Must skills: Specs 1) Server tuning ,Top , vmstat , sar , iostat 2) Instance tuning - Extensive use of Statspack / AWR reports 3) Schema 4) Data model review 5) Application architecture review from a DB access standpoint 6) Application / SQL 7) Operations optimization for backup / backup strategy / statistics gathering Essential Functions (Responsibilities): * Oracle database support versions ranging from Oracle 8i / 9i / 10g. * 10g grid control reporting / agents monitoring and management. * Ability to manage backups and recovery / Disaster recovery drills / Perform backup audits. * 7/24 Production Support, troubleshooting and Performance tuning. * Very Strong with RMAN * Support Oracle upgrades / installations / migrations. * Strong Unix Shell Scripting Qualifications/Requirements: PRIMARY SKILLS: * 7-10 years experience as a oracle dba. * Should have experience in handling Night shifts / Oncall Operations. * Ability to own infrastructure and passion to drive open items to closure and should have ability to stretch if required. * Should have handled atleast one upgrade to 10g independently. * Should have handled atleast one recovery independently. * Should have a good understanding on the backup / recovery procedures along with the Optimizer behaviors in oracle versions, Explain plan and tracing sessions, AWR reporting, Clustering / Failover mechanisms etc., * Experience in handling a 1TB+ database is added advantage.
