*Role :** **Unix Systems Administrator* *Lee’s Summit, MO* *6-12 Months * *Local’s Preferred * This position will support many different clients, in a multiple customer outsourcing environment. The primary responsibility of this position will be Linux - Redhat is the preference. Experience with Linux web servers is also required. This position includes installation, monitoring, and maintenance of Linux/UNIX servers. Any knowledge of other Unix Platforms is desirable but not required. This position will also participate in the maintenance of backup and recovery for Unix/Linux systems. The successful candidate will also participate in the testing, and maintenance of High Availability ( HP Service Guard) server fail-over configurations. This position will participate in a 24x7 support and require some off hour and weekend work. This position will also be part of an on call rotation. The successful candidate will also need to have excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language. The candidate will be required to have strong and detailed documentation skills, as most if not all customers have compliance requirements. Specialized/Practical Knowledge: The successful candidate will need 3-4 years experience in Linux server administration with an emphasis in Redhat Linux . Experience supporting client/server based ERP solutions. Strong technical (e.g. systems design) and analytical skills, including the ability to understand and convey complex technical information. Knowledge of networking, primarily TCP/IP and Storage networking. Experience with system clustering products particularly HP Service guard. Knowledge of shell scripting . Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience developing and maintaining technical procedures and documentation. Management Skill: No Management Responsibility Interaction: The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills and the ability to function well in a team environment. This position requires the ability to understand customer business processes and provide hardware solutions to meet business requirements. Also requires interaction with multiple teams and resources within the Company service center and throughout the Company organization. Complexity/Problem Solving: The successful candidate should have strong analytical and problem solving skills. This position requires candidate to analyze complex performance issues, researching vendor patches and tuning guide.
