Please reply to [email protected] Title:Storage Engineer Location:Dallas, TX Duration: 6+ months *CANDIDATES SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR AN IN-PERSON INTERVIEW* Skills: Automated Storage Maintenance (ASM) Brocade Fibre Channel Switches * Cisco SAN EMC DMX and CLARiiON storage * EMC NAS product lines * EMC Recover Point EMC Symmetrix * F5 ARX HBA External Storage Storage architecture * Storage Devices * Storage Technologies (Disk, SAN, NAS, SCSI, HBAs, fibre, Switched vs. Loop, Serial ATA, etc). * The Storage Engineer will help develop enterprise technology configuration standards and adapt enterprise solutions to specific business related requirements. The candidate will participate on a technology infrastructure team to implement enterprise and customer specific technologies into a managed production environment. The candidate will drive storage related technology lifecycles. This includes sun-setting of current technologies, development of new/replacement technologies as well as working with the architecture team to review emerging technologies. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the storage infrastructure in the lab and making all required changes, tracking and allocating available resources enterprise wide, tracking reserved and used resources enterprise wide and opening service requests with AA’s manages service providers for deployment into managed production environments. • Minimum of 5+ years experience with Storage related technologies. • Expert knowledge of Storage Technologies (Disk, SAN, NAS, SCSI, HBAs, fibre, Switched vs. Loop, Serial ATA, etc). • Minimum 3+ years experience on EMC Symmetrix, EMC NAS product lines and Brocade Fibre Channel Switches. • Prefer experience with EMC Recover Point and Cisco SAN • Prefer experience with F5 ARX product. This also include knowledge about multiprotocol file shares using LDAP authentication. • Working knowledge of storage product suites and technologies from EMC, HP, Sun and Veritas (Symantec). • Knowledge of storage subsystems feature set (snapshot, data replication, BCV, SRDF, etc). • Understanding of SAN architecture, topologies and best practices. (fan out ratios, LUN masking, fibre specs, switch specifications, SAN security/Port Zoning, core-to-end, n-tier, etc). • Understanding of Storage maintenance best practices. • Familiarity with Security Principles and methods. • Good oral and written communications. • Ability to develop strategic technical documentation ( standards documents, procedural documents). • Solutions focused with Enterprise perspective (reusable). • Self starter and team player. • Understanding of server hardware platforms and related operating systems. • Taking a solution from conceptual design to a detailed design complete to the point of being implemented without augmentation. • Familiarity working within project management methodologies. • Familiar managing product/platform lifecycle. • Ability to objectively justify designs, demonstrate logic path. • Understanding concepts of N-Tier architectures. • Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness. • Proactively identify troublesome trends as they develop; analyze/predict trends and develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service levels for the user community. • Ensure a stable performance environment enterprise wide and review high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid them in the future. • Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the infrastructure, such as evaluation of new software and hardware required to meet a business need or to make a process more cost effective. • Continuously strive to improve client support: o Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness. o Participate in IT initiatives to address service issues. o Keep abreast of technical aspects of computing environments. • Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and exposure to multiple technical disciplines including: o Unix, Linux and Windows. o Volume Managers, Tape, Storage and SANs. o Databases. o High-Availability, Redundancy, Clustering, Disaster Recovery, Load Balancing. o Hardware platforms and Networking. • Experience in evaluating and explaining complex problems or situations. • Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action. • Comfortable with making project decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results. • Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers. • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs. • Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems; strong customer service and communications skills. • Good judgment and analytical skills; strong follow-up and organizational skil -- Thanks & Regards, Abhi [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle Users" group.
