Location: Richmond,VA Duration: 6+ months Project Description: Apply the principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that make computers work. Analyzes user needs, and then designs, tests, and develops software to meet those needs.Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes; Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions; Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations; Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project. Maintenance - This position requires an understanding of the Call Center applications using Java, J2EE Technologies with Struts Framework and IVR/VXML, Nuance Frame work, OSR, TTS for healthcare insurance. Knowledge of the interaction between these products is critical and the candidate will need to have the skills and knowledge to evaluate the health of our IVR systems and remedy any issues quickly. - Knowledge of the environment in general, connectivity and surrounding disciplines in this space are a definite plus. - Ancillary knowledge of current technology platforms such as Websphere Process server and Enterprise Service Bus are also desired skills. - Development and support of automation scripts and deployment of code functions to enable customer environments to self support non- production environments. - Assistance with performance analysis of J2EE based applications, integration and configuration of connection functions such as MQ, JDBC and HTTP. - Responsible for distribution of customer created EAR files to clustered environments, troubleshooting implementation and customer interaction for application delivery. - The WAS admin is responsible for the overall health of the VSS Websphere application servers. This includes the CIT, SIT regions also handling support with IBM for UAT and Production. - Included in this role will be the routine deployments of VSS code to the CIT environment coordinated by the IVR Technical leads. Job responsibilities include: - Perform daily proactive health checks of all Production IVR environments. - Progam transactional testing and monitoring to Provide tier-1 support for issues and outages - Attend SWAT calls to diagnose and resolve issues - Provide RCA (root cause analysis) and Preventative Actions related to production outages Skills: • Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required • 2 years experience required. • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills • Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time • Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery; • Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue; • Knowledge of computer development software across multiple platforms.
