*Job Title:* *BI Cognos Consultant*
Location: *Ann Arbor, MI*
Duration: *12 Months*
*Candidates must be available for face to face interview with Client.*

*Position Description/Responsibilities:*
- Design, develop and maintain our integrated enterprise BI applications
- Perform development/maintenance of Cognos 8.4 BI applications in
production and development environments, including migration from Crystal
Reports to Cognos Report Net.
- Work with clients and project management to gather report requirements
and specifications, maintain release schedules, and see projects through to
customer satisfaction.
- Implement adhoc reporting strategies and dashboards (initiative for
2009)
- Provide Production Support/Troubleshooting; Provide subject matter
expertise.
- Web Portal Administration: Maintain Scheduling, Updates, and
Distribution of Report Net reports and Power play cubes; Administer Cognos
Series 7 Enterprise Server and security/namespace.
- Assist with Data Warehouse initiatives; Work with data warehouse
administrator to develop data mart models, design specifications and
metadata documentation.
- Write database queries (SQL) to improve system performance and data
retrieval. Stay informed of latest technologies; Assist in planning of
software and application upgrades (Cognos 8); Document and track work flow
and changes within reporting applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
*Position Requirements/Technical Skills:*
- Experience with major Cognos implementations (3-5 Years). Must have
implemented a Cognos Dashboard.
- Must have Cognos 8.4 experience with Report Net (Report Studio,
Framework Manager, and Cognos Connection).
- Knowledge of OLAP analysis and cube development
- Strong query language skills (SQL, PL/SQL etc.) with Oracle 10g (2
Years)
- Self motivated, creative, dynamic individual with a positive attitude
and able to work in an independent manner.
- Must show a commitment to excellence and posses strong analytical,
problem solving and multi-tasking skills, as well as written and verbal
communications skills; will be interacting with executive level personnel.
- BS in computer science or engineering or other similar program; or
comparable work experience.

*Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with Cognos Series 7 applications (Power play, Impromptu,
Enterprise Server) to migrate to C8.4
- Some experience with health risk assessment programs and associated
data
- Some experience with question/response (survey) data.
- Experience with VB scripting
