Required: Sr. Data Modeler Loc: NYC Duration: 6 months+ Rate: Open *Demonstrated experience and knowledge with the following:*** Data warehousing Concepts (star/snowflake schema, dimensional modeling) Relational database concepts (entity modeling, table design, keys, indexes, normalization) o SQL querying *The Dimensional Data Modeler will be responsible for the following:*** Analyze and understand source systems and data. Design, develop and maintain data marts. Design, develop, and maintain business and physical data mappings including data transformation rules. Guide and assist ETL and report developers in understanding and using the data marts. Create and maintain technical documentation. *Requirements:*** Demonstrated skill and expert knowledge of dimensional data modeling to develop data marts; minimum of 3 years experience. Demonstrated skill and ability in the development of transactional databases: Minimum of 1 year experience. High level of analytical and problem solving ability. Experience in SQL Server 2005/2008 database design and development. Demonstrated advanced experience in reviewing and trouble-shooting complex data modeling scenarios. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of SSIS or other ETL tools. Knowledge of BI tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services a plus. Knowledge of Data Vault methodology is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Analysis Services or other cube systems a plus.
