*Overall Responsibilities:*
This is a band 3 database developer role in the application architecture and
development job family. Main responsibilities include database and ETL
development as well as production support for DART, a data warehouse that
consists of an Oracle 10g RAC implementation, Unix-based batch and intraday
job streams that source data from various systems, a custom middleware
written in .NET C# that enables ad hoc user queries, and several Excel-based
and web-based front-end applications.
*Functional Responsibilities:*
Feed analysis – Interact with business users and source system IT teams to
define, agree, and document incoming data feed specifications.
Data modeling – Interact with business users and middleware team to conform
data sources into facts and dimensions of the star-schema data model.
Conduct peer design reviews.
ETL design – Design processes that transform and load data sources into fact
and dimension tables according to best practices. Conduct peer design
reviews.
Development – Implement database objects and ETL programs according to
design and coding standards. Conduct peer code reviews.
Testing – Plan, execute, and document testing of database objects and ETL
programs.
User Support – Interact with end users in a support role to fulfill requests
or resolve issues.
Production Support – Provide off-hour and weekend support of application
batch processes on a rotational, on-call basis.

WORK EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND:
Experience/Background
*5 to 8 years of application development experience, preferably in a large
corporation with a demonstrated ability to navigate large, complex
organizations to get work done.*
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree in computer science or comparable quantitative field such as
engineering, math, or science.
