The Siebel Admin role is part of a team responsible for maintaining, testing, and monitoring the development, QA and production environments, performing migration and rollout activities, and providing day-to-day support to end-users, project teams and Developers. Location: santa clara CA Duration : six months Skills Requirements: • 8+ years or more Siebel experience • Certified Siebel Core Consultant desired • Manage and monitor Siebel Servers, Siebel Components, and Siebel Tasks • Unix scripting must • Administer Assignment Rules and Workflow Policies • Apply application upgrades and patches to existing Siebel Enterprises • Deep understanding of Siebel System Administration utilizing all major components of the Siebel Enterprise (Workflow,Assignment, Remote, Actuate Reporting, Load Balancing) • Good working knowledge of Siebel authentication and access control using LDAP and Active Directory • Hands-on experience with Siebel System Administration daily activities such as configuring application components,parameters, and configuration files; using the Siebel command-line server manager interface; logging and event notification,gathering diagnostic information using Siebel Application Response Measurement, supporting High Interactivity clients; using Application Deployment Manager (ADM) to deploy application customizations; and basic performance tuning • Start-up/Shut down procedures for UNIX servers • Good working knowledge of Siebel Enterprise installation in a UNIX environment • Siebel Tools, Siebel Enterprise Architecture, Siebel Data Model, EIM/EAI, Siebel Workflow and Assignment Manager • Experience with DB2 a plus Responsibilities: • Follow project processes and procedures, and recognize areas for improvement • Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of company guidelines, processes, practices and procedures. • Identifies and resolves issues between systems design and technical feasibility. • Support Development team and address environment issues. • Prepares/moves application programs from development to production in controlled manner. • Determines scope and participates in establishing priorities for system changes & Upgrades • Provides on-going evaluation of system functions and design and identifies areas for improvement. • Provides on-call coverage to application programs as needed to support business operations. • Develops documentation and other materials supporting application programs. • Communicates actively with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts.
