Senior Production Database Administrator – Redwood City, CA- Duration : 6

Reports to Senior Manager, US IT Operations

 RESPONSIBILITIES

   - Architecture and implementation of database systems
   - Analyze and tune the Oracle Production Environment (SGA, PGA, I/O
   waits, latches, resource contentions)
   - Review and tune Oracle Queries, Reports, and Views for performance and
   best practices
   - Provide DBA support for 10G RAC / ASM / Data guard
   - Provide DBA support for Data warehouse
   - Design database to meet business continuity and disaster recovery
   requirements
   - Maintain 99.999% uptime for production database
   - Design database clusters for no downtime upgrades, patches and
   maintenance
   - Manage and maintain DB related operating systems and storage
   - Perform as expert technical resource to programming staff in the
   program development, testing, and implementation process
   - Lead developers in design reviews and integration testing
   - Provide 24x7 support (including on call pager) for production databases





MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS



   - Bachelor's Degree (CS) required, Masters Preferred
   - 4+ years of production Oracle database admin experience (at least 2
   years on 10g) on Linux/Unix
   - Experience with schema and database design and architecture
   - Problem analysis and resolution skills at both strategic and functional
   levels
   - Excellent scripting skills in Unix environment – Shell, Perl
