Job Title: Data Architect
Location: South Field, MI
Duration: 6 Months
Rate: $60/Hr All Inclusive

- Implement logical and physical models for all layers of the data warehouse
data model
- Develop and implement data migration scripts
- Develop necessary modeling documentation as requested by the project team
- Participate in performance tuning activities including partitioning
strategies, indexing strategies, and SQL optimization
- Map data elements of data sources into the domain data models
- Determine and document business rules to be applied to data cleansing
- Coordinate with development/vendor/implementation team to improve model
formats and approaches with regard to implementation issues
- Plans and implements strategies for bundling software for loads into
multiple environments
- Assists in all aspects of implementation of normalized Relational and
Multi-dimensional Data Models
- Aligns with the Ally Financial Architecture Center of Excellence for best
practices
- Documents and provides insight into Best Practices for Data Warehousing
based on expertise and years of experience in data warehouse design and/or
data modeling
- Participates in Cross Functional Reviews/Peer Reviews as an Author or
Reviewer
- Follows configuration and change management processes as defined by Ally
- Coordinates with the Requirements Team to understand requirements, provide
feedback, and request clarification as needed
- Provides timely, complete and relevant input into schedule and planning
for the implementation of the Data Warehouse
- Performs other duties as assigned

Responsible for the logical design and implementation of databases and data
systems • May be involved in resolving complex data related issues • Expert
knowledge data system platforms and database programming languages • Expert
knowledge of data security management systems • Expert at resolving data
related issues including complex data modeling challenges • Ability to make
and decide upon Architecture tradeoffs and successfully decided and
communicate system tradeoffs • Knowledge of industry best practices for
design and deployment • Knowledge of standards applications in physical data
storage, maintenance, access, and security • Ability to perform backups and
database recovery • Ability to develop data requirements and configure
database parameters accordingly • Is able to effectively relate his/her
technical expertise to varying organizational needs; knows when and how the
technical content can be legitimately tailored to fit different departments
and customer needs. • Ability to influence those with whom the incumbent has
no direct supervisory authority • Takes the initiative to act on issues •
Bachelor of Science Degree and 8+ years of experience or equivalent
