This is a need for one of our better clients in Charlotte. Cisco is onsite
there and they need an additional resource for 6-12 months. Strong
possibility of it going longer. They need Cisco CRS experience. The rate is

*Description*



On Site Optimization Engineering Support:

Provides On-Site Engineering to support Cisco's Customer Engineering and
Operations staff for a period of six (6) months from the completion of the
first site installation. This position will be located in Charlotte from
Monday to Friday. The Engineer will provide operational support to
Customer’s CRS-1 backbone, and liaise between Cisco on inter-related
projects.



The requirements associated with this role have grown to one on-site
engineer, with expert level knowledge of CRS gear and IOS-XR, as well as a
strong routing protocol background including: OSPF, BGP, MPLS (LDP, L2VPN,
L3VPN, Traffic Engineering) and Multicast. They must have excellent
communications skills (written and verbal) and have a thorough understanding
of Cisco Case initiation, escalation and tracking procedures.



Quantity: 1 engineers

Locations: Charlotte, NC

Scope of responsibility, 1st level before TAC; mainly proactive with minor
reactive input; testing support (Customer and Cisco labs), and change
control support (potentially after hours); The engineer should work to align
with priority support for troubleshooting guidance, troubleshooting
documentation, Knowledge Transfer of specified documentation for NMC,
configuration compliance checks, audit reviews and event correlation of
issues for hardening existing tool sets.



CRS proactive maintenance, design support, upgrades and troubleshooting§
alignment with HTOM/TAC engineers; they will NOT be responsible for
installations, actual editing of production configs, or physical removal of
defective equipment.

Provide weekly summarizations of recommended core NW§ updates (config
changes)

   - Recommend hardware upgrades as required
   - Recommend and lead software upgrade path



Provide training and knowledge§ sessions to the customer as required

Work as a liaison, with lead NCE§ providing the overall direction and
leadership to the customer

 With§ relation to lifecycle processes like SMU, code paths, potential
design changes and future upgrades that will still be driven from the AS
team NCE’s. While the onsite person will be aware and participate in said
discussions, their role is more operational focused and should look at these
types of changes from an operational mind set.
