Client currently seeks a Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Boston, MA. Need a Senior candidate for this role. Project Description: The client is seeking a seasoned Oracle dBA to help setup and maintain a database reader farm consisting of 15 Oracle databases using Oracle data guard for a period of 8 months. The reader farm is a temporary fix to get through a peak period until client's datawarehouse redesign is complete Position Functions or Responsibilities: 1. helping setup and maintain 15 database server's in a reader farm 2. ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system 3. work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. 4. Proactively monitor the database systems to endure secure services with minimum downtime 5. providing trend analysis to t he service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management 6. responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate 7. responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development team 8. Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. Additional Comments: • This contract will be based on a 37.5 hour work week and when added up on a yearly basis, 48 weeks a year (i.e. the contractor is expected to take all state holidays, 10 sick/vacation days unpaid). Candidates must clearly be informed of this information. Standard requirements: CORI requirements Required Qualifications 5 Years- Oracle Database Administration Other Required Qualifications/Experience: 5 Years- must have strong Oracle 10/11G, Data guard expertise 5 Years- must have at least 5 yrs Oracle 10G/11G experience 5 Years- significant experience troubleshooting complicated database problems 5 Years -knowledge of ASM/RAC environment When applying please mention the JOB ID NUMBER.
