Role: MIDDLEWARE ADMINISTRATOR

Location: Portland OR,

JOB DESCRIPTION:


The Middleware Administrator provides technical support and technical
consulting for Client customers. As a part of clients Infrastructure Team,
you'll be responsible for the installation and configuration of Oracle
Fusion Middleware Products and the integration of these Products with LDAP,
ERP Systems, and CRM Systems. Middleware Administrators will have both
direct (onsite visits, phone) and indirect (via email) contact with
customers to assist in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and
maintaining complex web server configurations that may include Apache,
Oracle WebCenter/SOA/UCM and E-Business Suite. A Middleware Administrator
must have knowledge of web hosting technologies, Linux/Unix operating
systems, Oracle Database 10g or 11g and WebLogic. Specific duties will/may
include the following:
Engineering and Provisioning
* Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational
needs
* Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware,
peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance
with standards and project/operational requirements.
Install and configure systems for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g or 10g
Technology Stack
* Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for
external and internal projects
* Contribute to and maintain system standards
* Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches
for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our
resources and provide economies of scale.

Operations and Support

* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability
of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing
system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such
as backups
* Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
* Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and
system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery
tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as
necessary.
* Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
* Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
* Provide support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and
troubleshoot issues.
* Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and
communicate with impacted constituencies.

Maintenance

* Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade
administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as
necessary
* Upgrade and configure system software that supports Client infrastructure
applications or external projects or operational needs
* Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
* Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
* Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource
optimization as required.
* Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
* Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills
* 2-5+ years of Implementation Experience or DBA/Systems Administration
experience
* Oracle Fusion Middleware experience (WebCenter 11g, UCM, SOA Suite)
* WebLogic experience (BEA WebLogic 9.2 and above)
* PL/SQL knowledge, SQL Plus
* DNS fundamentals, including diagnostics with Unix tools
* Network fundamentals, including diagnostics with Unix tools
* Apache 2.0 and/or 2.2
* VMware fundamentals
* Generating and managing SSL certificates using openssl
* Knowledge of Load Balancers, Network, and firewalls
* Knowledge of Enterprise Deployment strategies, High-availability and
clustering
* Strong knowledge in J2EE development and deployment (WebLogic). - HTML,
JavaScript, JSP, JavaBeans, Servlets, Java, JDBC, UNIX, Perl, Korn shell,
XML, JMS / MQ, AWT and
* Strong knowledge of SVN (or any source code version control) *

Desired Skills
* RedHat Linux, RHCE - Certification is a plus, but not required
* ESX Server a plus
* DBA Certification or Linux Systems Administration a plus
