As part of a high-performance team, you should be current with fast tools and techniques for web development. HTML5 and CSS3 are "permission to play"… you should also know CoffeeScript from JavaScript, Sass from Compass, and Rack from Ring. You must also know how to design high scalability applications for the web. This includes understanding how the web works, along with good knowledge of caching and NoSQL data storage.
