*Position Summary:*
This is a PHP development position within the Network Engineering group
reporting to the Director of Network Analysis and Development Services. The
group has responsibility for pro-active analysis of the nationwide IP network
and all the services provided. The web developer will play a role in
designing and developing web front ends, dashboards, and GUI related tools,
advanced data visualization (Tufte), as well as service automation front
ends and wizards.
*Main Responsibilities:*
*Participate in the software tool development lifecycle including
specification, design,
implementation, testing and documentation with a focus on Web front
ends, and GUIs.
*Creation and maintenance of various dashboards and reports.
*Maintain and enhance existing software applications based on new
requirements and customer
feedback.
*Evaluate, recommend and adopt new technologies, tools andlibraries.
*Work independently and provide clear documented status of work activities
and business issues
that impact the department.
*Provide technical tier 5 support during the rollout of new products /
services as required.
*Participate on interdepartmental teams to support organizational goals.
*Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
*Experience:
*
*Minimum of 7 years experience in software development.
*Development in PHP, HTML 4 & 5, CSS 2 & 3, Javascript, JQuery (Javascript
Framework);
experience with ZEND (PHP Framework) a HUGE plus.
*Experience in Agile software design (scrum, etc.) and development is a
plus.
*An understanding of semantic HTML programming.
*Object Oriented Programing (OOP) understanding required.
*Experience in XML and XSLT is required.
*Experience with using ODBC/JDBCs to connect to various relational
databases (MySQL,
PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) is required.
*Experience in web-based systems and client-server development is required.
*Creative, self-motivated team player.
*Demonstrated initiative to initiate and build relationships both
internally and externally.
*Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects

*Skill Set Requirements*
* 4-6 years of experience leading test teams in a multi-product, multi-vendor
network or system
integration environment in the telecommunications, voice and billing
infrastructures, information
technology, or related industry.
* In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas -
VoIP, DOCSIS, IMS, SIP.
* Strong oral and written communications skills.
* Strong team building and team leadership abilities
* Proficiency in test automation tools and test automation approaches.
* Mastery of software development life cycle, test processes and design
skills.
* Bachelors degree (minimum) in an engineering, computer science, or
related discipline, or
equivalent industry experience.
*Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas
or
technologies:
*
* Working knowledge of the IMS components and architecture.
* In-depth, working knowledge of SIP/SDP protocol/SS7.
* Working knowledge of DIAMETER protocol.
* Expertise using tools and test equipment to trace and troubleshoot VOIP
calls.
* Working knowledge of Session Border Controllers.
* Good Analytical skills, including the ability to analyze failed issues
and associated
implications.
* Good organizational skills with the ability to properly communicate using
test
management software.
*Desirable candidates will have working knowledge of the following areas or
technologies:*
* Experience with Broadworks soft switches.
* Experience with AcmePacket SBCs.
* Working knowledge of PBX's and PRI - IAD devices.
* Experience testing with HPQC.
* Experience with COPS protocol.
* PacketCable / DOCSIS experience.
* Experience with CALEA lawful intercept.
* Experience with VOIP billing / provisioning / monitoring systems.
