*Job Title: Oracle PL/SQL Developer Location: Charlotte, NC Duration: 4+ Months Contract* Job Descreption: A developer/analyst is expected to review business requirements, collaborate on technical specifications and detailed designs and develop software solutions that fulfill those requirements and specifications. In addition, this role will be expected to provide production support which may occur outside normal business hours. In addition, it is expected for this person to support development and execution of test plans to ensure quality in software releases. Responsibilities: • Develop & support applications for client's client-server based strategic business systems & integrate with existing applications. • Follow project plans and provide clear status of progress. May include participation in daily status meetings. • Follow the client software development lifecycles and conform to best practices. • Review business requirements, software requirements and detailed designs. • Participate in design meetings to gather user requirements from business units. Requirements: • 5 years developing business applications, preferably financial or insurance industry application. • 5 years experience with relational databases, including Oracle PL-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server. • Demonstrated ability to function independently and as an integral member of a team. • Strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills. • Strong logical thinking and problem solving skills. • Availability to work additional hours to meet challenging deadlines. • Experience with web services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and distributed systems. Proven understanding of object-oriented application design. • Experience supporting batch processes or third-party applications. • Experience developing and executing automated testing. • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience • Insurance or financial services background.
