Description:

*This position is responsible for providing design, project
implementation and operational support and management of a multi-site
WAN and LAN network and security system. Support for break/fix incidents
and customer generated requests are included as a part of the position
responsibilities. ****Candidates must have experience with the design,
configuration, build, installation, tuning and operation of network
routers, switches, content switches, firewalls and other supporting
network and security related systems. Must be a self-starter with
excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills and be
a proven professional with excellent written, verbal skills and strong
team player. Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills.
****Candidates must be able to support the development of new technology
recommendations and proposals including the design of systems, obtaining
vendor quotes and the support of cost estimates preparation of proposal
documents. ****Candidate will work in an environment using written
processes and procedures, Change Control processes and enterprise
incident management systems (Ticketing System) ***
*Required Education/Experience: ***
*• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related technical experience ****
• 8 to 10 years of hands-on technical support experience will be
considered in lieu of a degree ****
• Must be able to demonstrate knowledge in networking theory, LAN/WAN
implementation, data communications, Voice over IP (VOIP) and
maintenance tasks. ****
• The candidate will have a good working knowledge of all common
transport technologies (LAN and WAN). ****
• The candidate must understand all the major routing protocols and be
familiar with Multicast networks. ****
• Operation, maintenance, design and configuration of the enterprise
switching and routing network including design and configuration of
Nexus 7010, Nexus 5096, Catalyst****6509/6513, Catalyst 4507 / 4509 and
Catalyst 3750 / 3570.****
• Operation, maintenance, design and configuration of the enterprise
security systems****including Juniper and Checkpoint firewall clusters,
Websense V10000 Security Gateway and Red-Hat Linux DNS servers.***
*Responsible for:
*
*• Operation and maintenance of the enterprise switching and routing
network
****• Operation and maintenance of the enterprise security system
including firewalls, DNS, content filtering proxy servers. ****
• Response to incident management system tickets to troubleshoot and
restore service within contract Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). This
includes being on-call after-hours and on weekends travelling to sites
within San Diego county as needed.****
• Support of network and security operations improvement and project
activities for hardware, software and analysis deliverables ****
• Design and analysis with associated documentation in support of
network and security improvements. This includes interactive design
sessions and technical solution presentations to the customer.****
• Maintain logs, diagrams and records associated with changes, upgrades,
moves, problems, projects affecting the network and security areas ****
• Leading network and security projects as requested and approved by the
customer. Includes determination, design, analysis, documentation and
implementation of recommended solution. May include scheduled work
outside of normal business hours.***
*Other Desired Skills/Experience: ***
*• Networking and Security certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCSP,
CISSP, GIAC & CCIE are highly desirable ****
• Knowledge of Remedy trouble ticket system is a plus.***
