*Minimum Experience Requirements:*
12 years related experience. 12+ years of systems work, including global SAP
implementation projects, single-instance global SAP system management, SAP
implementations in Life Science companies;
*Duties:*
Responsible for all SAP development activity using ABAP and related tools and
supporting technologies. Incumbent will independently identify, define, and
recommend technology in specific and related fields to meet long-range Global
IT goals; work as lead consultant providing technical leadership for an
information technology division or inter-division group focused on
organizational and enterprise objectives; and serve as consultant to senior
Global IT management to guide the use of current technology and technological
advances.
Growth in technical leadership skills and a demonstrated capacity for more
in-depth technical consultative responsibilities are required to progress.
Primary accountabilities include: Advise Global IT managers responsible for the
analysis, programming, and management of information systems;Provide broad and
project-specific technical guidance on the conceptual and practical use of
advanced technology; Independently consult with senior Global IT management to
recommend technology to support long-term goals; Recommend actions to resolve
specific and related technical issues within and across Global IT
organizations; Advance technical recommendations that support business
objectives and financial gain, and avoid financial loss; Provide advanced
technology and project management consultative support to divisional and
inter-divisional groups; Consult with senior Global IT management to assist
with long-range planning for new or emerging technology.
*Skills:*
-Executes all changes to SAP programs (maintenance and enhancement project work)
-Support of implementation, upgrade efforts
-Ensure quality of group work deliverables through review and approval (e.g.,
code reviews to ensure high-performing coding)
-Develop and/or contribute to definition of Divisional and/or Group development
standards
-Comply with Divisional and/or Group ERP development standards and applicable
regulations
-Participate in selection of internal and external development resources,
ensuring, e.g., proper team capabilities across relevant functions and
technologies.
-Evaluate and advise on performance of development resources; mentor and
develop staff.
-Provide 3rd-level support for Incidents and project issues, including support
of Basis team in investigation of system issues.
-Plan and monitor human resource demand and availability within scope of
responsibility to ensure adequate capacity and efficient utilization.
-Advise IT management on relevant technology issues, trends, and opportunities.
-Maintain good working knowledge of Business and of SAP functionality.
-Support budget planning and tracking.
-Occasional travel possible (project reviews, vendor visits; up to 10%)
