JOB DESCRIPTION:

Title: Network Engineer - Firewall & Load Balancer Expert
Location: Richfield, MN

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
Technical Engineer in the Network devices - Load Balancer Admin supporting
ACE/GSS server and ASA firewall environment with high end routers and
switches. 
Assist in troubleshooting, technical direction, education, development, and
project management of the technical staff.

Roles and responsibility

Daily operational hands-on network duties working with Layer 1-7 switching,
TCP/IP, OSPF, HSRP, and load balancing (Cisco L2/L3 switches, firewalls,
load balancers, GSS).
Demonstrated experience with routing and switching VLANs, tunnelling,
spanning tree, trunking.
Document the current and future network architecture and technology.
Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of delivering complex
solutions using industry best 
practices and methods in Load Balancer environment.
Implement and Maintain Existing & future Data Center Networks.
Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
Responsible for ongoing support/troubleshooting of configuration and layout
of load balancer infrastructure , in a 24x7 environment.
Implement network technology, process, and security standards.
Ensure the Infrastructure team has the appropriate information and skills to
successfully administer and support the network environment.
Develop, monitor, and report the appropriate metrics to measure network
performance and availability and to identify necessary improvements.
Evaluate current network infrastructure and identify technologies and manage
projects designed to improve security, scalability and reliability of the
overall environment.
Manage network vendor relations ensuring selected vendors are providing
optimal service.
Plan and manage multiple network infrastructure projects.
Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written
communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company
interests.

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills

. Provide technical direction on evolving corporate business requirements
and strategic IT program 
. Review, analyze, and evaluate current business systems and formulate new
system designs to further enhance business strategies.
. Research, integrate, and implement network management applications to
assist with network troubleshooting. 
. Ensure best practices are implemented and maintained concerning server
development, upgrades, and security patches 
. Develop and maintain all system related documentation regarding the
network, including disaster recovery, installation and data recovery
procedures. 
. Monitor and manage Load Balancing server environemtn and provide expert
level support.
. Assist the Network Services - Network Engineering Group with basic
troubleshooting and configuration of the WAN.
. Develop and maintain all network operations, monitoring, remote access,
capacity planning and server troubleshooting services. 
. Provide night and weekend support for system troubleshooting issues as
well as 7x24 hour onsite and pager technical support as needed.
. Depending upon the issue, may provide second tier support for DC Systems
Coordinators and remote users in the DCs.
. Log all activity for assistance utilizing a trouble ticketing system, for
tracking and reporting purposes.
. Demonstrates high analytical skills and is self-motivated/directed 
. Applies standards consistently across all solutions 
. Develops and contributes to policies, standards and procedures, and
documentation of best practices/process improvements 
. Demonstrates strategic foresight while employing hands-on technical skills
on projects and work assignments 
. Delivers by possessing productivity, professionalism, customer service
attitude, attention to detail and quality; ability to multitask; team focus,
strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
and adherence to Firm's standard operating  procedures 
. Demonstrates ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and
ability to take direction from multiple areas 
. Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with technical infrastructure 
. Understands and operates within agreed SLAs
