*Position:* Solaris / Linux UNIX Administrator/Sysadmin *Location:* Cambridge, MA (Candidate must be local,) *Duration*: 6 months+ *Project Start Date:* Immediate *Mandatory Skills:* Solaris, Linux, EMC Storage, DMX / Clarion/ VMAX - The candidate is expected to work closely with a multi-discipline team and be able to use both technology and communication skills. - The candidate should be flexible and able to overcome challenges in a win-win manner. *Required Skill Sets:* - Multiyear experience with Solaris on Sun servers, all classes - Multiyear experience with Linux *Bonus Skills:* - Multiyear recent/current experience with EMC Storage Arrays and Software –DMX / Clarion/ VMAX - The candidate should have strong experience in clustering technologies including VERITAS - The candidate should have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking as it pertains to host configurations. *Client Expectations:* - Solid Sysadmin skills in UNIX (preferably Solaris) and Red Hat Linux - System patching and upgrades - Should be able to Jump and kickstart right from the beginning - Experience managing multiple projects and day to day activities. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. - Ability to lead, from a technical perspective, junior members of the team with very little input from upper management. - Expected to learn and enforce existing processes as quickly as possible. - Work closely with project managers to estimate engineering effort, project plans, system design specs, participating in technical reviews, updating Infrastructure documentation. - General maintenance and troubleshooting - Familiar with Enterprise applications - Familiar with getting work through a ticketing system. - Self-motivated.
